Can you imagine having a dog bigger than you?  I would be scared to death..LOL.  You can tell this dog is a Bullmastiff.  I have a Bullmastiff named Athena, but she's not that GIGANTIC!!

i heart faces | Fix-It Friday - #52

This is the first time I have participated in iheartfaces Fix-It Friday so here it goes.

This is what I came up with, old picture effect, do you like it?

I used Photoshop CS3 to edit this photo.
Below are my steps on how I did this.

1. Open your picture. Duplicate it so you have two layers
2. Brightened up the first layer to 42%
3. Your settings on the duplicated layer will be Colour Burn with 20% opacity.
4. Create a new layer. Fill this with ab7865. Set this to Pin Light at 100%.
5. Create another new layer. Fill this with 8d5a47.  Settings here are also Pin Light, 100%.

The BIG Photo Challenge - Abandoned

I am participating in a great new meme/blog hop party from Lousie (Adori Graphics) on her photography blog called Adorible Photography.

This weeks challenge theme is Abandoned,  My hubs is a woodworks hobbiest so this little abandoned cabinet was inherited from a customer which seems to me an antique but in bad shape and is on my back patio.  He made a replica of the cabinet for the customer.  I asked him to refinished it but he never answered me, plus I have no place for it :(

Tornadoes in the South

The sun is shining bright with spring winds that is just breathtaking.  The severe weather has moved out of my area  with no damage. But others south of me near Jackson, MS weren't so lucky.  These storms are heading to the east coast.

Click here and here to read about tornadoes flattening homes which left 11 people dead & unknown number of injuries.  Let's pray for these families in the devastated area.

Severe Weather, very scary stuff *Update*

*UPDATE 2:15pm*  Watch has been extended until 8pm now.  So far all has been fine, just a few thunderstorms.  Let's hope it stays that way.

*UPDATE 9:36am*  Tornado Watch still in effect until 1pm and we got pounded around 8am for about an hour but no tornadoes, thank goodness   The bathroom is still ready.  I didn't go to sleep last night till 3am.  I'm tired.  I want this over with. It has a green tint outside..yuck!

*UPDATE  9:29pm* We are still in a Tornado Watch until 3am and so far we have only had heavy rain.  You know I'll be up until this watch is over.  No sleeping for me...URGH!!!


We are going to have strong severe weather tonight into tomorrow.  This severe weather threat includes high winds, large hail, heavy rain & POSSIBLY tornadoes.  We are under a Tornado Watch right now.  I hate this time of year, Tornado Season, from April - June.   I've made sure I have batteries in my weather radio and pillows & nintendo DS ready for the stay in the bathroom tub for the kids, just in case.  I also got on Evan's monkey backpack leash in there to put on him, it scares me to death that I won't be able to hold on to my lil boy if there is a tornado so that is why I put that leash on him and wrap it around my wrist many times.  It's weird how you change when you have kids because before I had kids, I didn't really worry about severe weather but NOW it SCARES me.

I would love it if my readers would, please say a little prayer that this storm passes us by with no damage or injuries.

1. What was the first car you owned?

1997 Saturn SL1 - It was forest green and I LOVED it! I still own a Saturn, 2007 Outlook.  Saturns are fantastic cars, sad they are no longer making them.

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?

The Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive..lol..my parents played that song alot on the record player.  My parents still have all their vinyl records.

3. Have you ever had stitches?

No and never had a broken bone  *knocks on wood*

4. What was your first job?

Worked for Gina's Hallmark.  It was a pretty cool job.

Freaky Friday - Bubble House

This Freaky Friday was about houses. I found one with lots of uniqueness and it's called the 'Bubble House.

The ‘Bubble House’ of Tourrettes-sur-Loup, France, is only 35 years old and has yet to be finished, but that hasn’t stopped the French ministry of culture from listing it as a historic monument. Designed in the 70s by Hungarian architect Antti Lovag for fashion designer Pierre Cardin, the bubble house is futuristic yet organic, with lots of built-in furniture and oval, convex windows. The design is meant to take optimal advantage of the volcanic Côte d’Azur landscape, and its windows certainly provide a beautiful view of the Mediterranean.

New Film called BABIES

I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Mommy Diaries, and she had posted about a film called BABIES and I thought you all would love to know about this film that is coming out on Mother's Day this year.

In the film BABIES, they simultaneously follow four babies around the world – from birth to first steps. BABIES joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all.

The children are as follows:

I can always switch back to DirecTV if I don't like it"  I scheduled the appointment to have it installed and today is the day.  The tech will be here between 11am - 1pm.

With AT&T U-verse, I am getting all the above, plus DVR & more for a cost of $180.00.  Doesn't seem like much but every dollar saved counts!

Silly Bandz

What are Silly Bandz?

They said they can't keep them in stock.  A few hours later, my friend & I go to our local flea market and low & behold, there is a lady selling Silly Bandz for $5.00 for 24 pack.  I didn't buy any right then because I don't know what Owen would like.  They had so many to choose from.  I go home and tell Owen and we go back the next day to let him buy him some Silly Bandz.  He had $10 so he got two packs. He has already traded his for others.

Now he wants MORE!!!!  My sister had her son's birthday party this past Saturday and she found the Silly Bandz at a sporting goods store.  She put these bandz in a plastic egg and handed them out as party favors.  Owen & Avery were THRILLED!  Of course, Owen wants to go to this store which is a couple towns over but it only takes 15-20 minutes to get there.  He wants to go tomorrow but I decided I was gonna go on the internet and search for these bandz and buy them for him.  I bought a ton of them well almost all.  Thank goodness for those custom twitter backgrounds I make for one client that I was able to pay for these and plus we owe Owen $35 for his report card.  He gets $5 per A.

Easter Fun

We had a great Easter Sunday with both of my sister's family. We went to my middle sister's house out in the country. We chit chatted & had an egg hunt and later ate some delicious food. We had a ham, green beans, baked beans, stuffed celery, potato salad and deviled eggs. It was yummy!  We all have a great time being all together except my parents had to work :(

Later the kids went outside to play, mainly jumping on the trampoline and us watching my brother-in-law play with the cats using a fishing rod with a play worm on the end. LOL! After a while, we noticed what we were all sitting on. My sister was on an egg crate, my bro-in-law and me were on coolers. Now that is what you call 'Redneck Lawn Chairs'. LOL!
