Anyone using the Believe Template???

I hate to write this post but I was contacted by the designer of the graphics used in the Believe template. She states I went against her TOU for her Berry Merry Christmas kit which I used in the Believe template. She states even though I'm not making money from it, it still considered as commercial use when creating another product. (I must be confused on commercial use)) She asked for me to please remove the template immediately which I have and anyone using this template will also need to stopping using it. I am sorry for this inconvenience this may cause you.

With every digi-scrap kit I use, I send out an email asking permission to use their kits but on this particular kit, I read the TOU and did not send a permission email. I must have misunderstood exactly what her TOU meant obviously! I'm sorry ;(

I have a ton of other Christmas blogger templates that I do have permission to use and those templates are published here ;)

NEW GOAL: Learn to create my very own digital scrap kits to use for my blogger templates.

  1. It is so hard to understand every designer's TOU and that is mostly whey I have always tried to make things from my own kits. Actually even after getting permission from some designers more recently I was still unsure whether the permission extended to all uses of the product that I wanted - its a nightmare trying to understand it! I'm sure your readers will understand (((hugs)))

  3. It might be considered commercial use because someone else could use your template for their business blog, or something. I don't know.

    That sucks though. :(

  4. That is very true!! And that would go against my TOU if that happened ;)

  5. Its definitely easier to make your own - takes longer but it is easier! I can help you - just ask...though I'm more familiar with PSP than Photoshop.

  7. Seems a bit silly to me. You aren't selling your templates, and your rules specify your templates aren't to be used for business blogs. You didn't break any rules. :[

  8. I agree that it is VERY hard to know what to do with all the different TOU. I sometimes make my own stuff but even then, let's say you are using a CU for CU item... you may buy it only to read the TOU which say, "not to be used for web/blog design." It's too hard.

  9. Heather, I'm sorry they had a problem with you using their graphics. I'm still amazed that you do all these cool templates for free! You're doing a great job!

Thanks again for the snow code- I think it looks really cool!

  11. That's kind of unfair, so much work to finish the templates and you give them for free...
    Sorry to hear that!
